    Drink & Draw returns for our first year anniversary of drawing nude or nearly nude people right here in the heart of Edmonton! For this edition, we are adding some whimsy to celebrate our fairy first year by having our models don fairy wings. As per usual, bring your own supplies and arrive early to grab your ideal seat! the mezzanine of Evo will open for 6:30pm, however Evo is open at 4pm so please arrive early and grab your food and drink beforehand

  • Cruising the Downtown: Book Launch

    Join the team of the Edmonton Queer History Project as they launch their first book, based in part on their popular Downtown Walking Map! Learn about the people, places, and moments that helped shape our collective queer history — at least in the city core!

    Learn about the history of Edmonton Pride from its earliest days right up and through the pandemic. With special reminiscences from some of the key players in Edmonton’s past, this book is a great introduction to the resilience and strength of our 2SLGBTQ+ community.

    The launch event includes a panel of the team members who helped write this book, talking about their experiences with the project and with the spaces included in the text.

    In recognition of Trans Awareness Week - let’s gather together to celebrate the life and accomplishments of diversity and inclusion advocate Marni Panas, a shining example of the best of Alberta.

    This public screening of our Queer History Month video story will include a Q&A with Marni herself following the video.

    PLUS we have a special guest speaker from Skipping Stone Foundation in Calgary who will talk about current experiences and realities in the Province for Two-Spirit and Trans folks, the actions and supports available at Skipping Stone Foundation, and the vital role that connection and joy play in the continued fight that is being faced today.

    Honoring lives, uplifting the future.
    This year, we want our gathering to be more meaningful and to create a way forward to build safe and brave futures for trans people to live freely and protected without fear of being unlived, disowned, or violent. It's evidence that the authoritative state is, and might use the notwithstanding clause to continue violating the rights of trans youth, just like the attack on the Alberta teachers' freedom of expression.
    Join us in remembrance and resistance. We gather to honor trans lives lost, grieve, uplift trans futures, and celebrate the power of community.
    OVERVIEW
    The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is observed every year on November 20 to honor the memory and legacy of transgender individuals who have lost their lives due to acts of anti-transgender violence. This day raises awareness about the violence faced by the transgender community and advocates for a more inclusive society.
    What to Expect:
    A talk and performance from Miss Angelica Ross, Name reading, heartfelt conversations about our collective future, and a call to protect trans youth. Through performances, Trans Voices, fundraising, and a silent auction, we uplift trans existence and celebrate our enduring legacy, supporting trans-led initiatives. Be with the community. Bring a candle. Bring your whole self.
    Theme:
    “Trans Existence is Resistance,” which centers the lives, futures, protection, and leadership of trans people.
