Whether your a seasoned entertainer, an under booked gem, or a brand-new performer ready for your moment, this stage is yours. we wanna see the unexpected: live vocals, roller-skates, comedy, magic, burlesque, or any talent you've been hiding. if its uniquely YOU, then it belongs in the gauntlet.

all experience levels are encouraged
all we ask is you bring your creativity, your passion, and the glitter !

Equal parts sexy, silly, and smart, this is not your average trivia night — it’s a full-bodied cabaret celebration with a wink, a wiggle, and a whole lot of shamrock mischief. 💚🔥
About the venue:
Evolution Wonderlounge (Evo) is a lively 2SLGBTQ+ bar and performance venue.
It’s a two-level, street-level space with a full kitchen, offering burgers, wraps, pizzas, and cocktails. Open from 4 pm daily, Evo mixes dining and nightlife—hosting drag and burlesque shows, karaoke, trivia, and bingo. With large windows, warm lighting, and flexible seating, it’s designed as a welcoming community hub for both early-evening meals and late-night entertainment.

Welcome to THE BIG GAY SPELLING BEE hosted by YEG Drag MonSTAR Emmonia!
Are you the best gay speller Edmonton has to offer? Compete in The Big Gay Spelling bee with $300 in cash prizes for the winners. Get the word right, you move on to the next round, get it wrong and you get the CHOP. We go until one speller remains!
You will automitcally be registered into the competition upon purchasing a COMPETITOR ticket.
If you prefer to watch and cheer on your long time or newly made friends of the night please purchase a SPECTATOR ticket - you will have access to the event but will not be particiapting in the competition.
1st place: $150
2nd place: $100
3rd place: $50

Event rules:
Competitors will be asked to spell a mix of straight words and gay slang increasing in difficulty each round. If you spell your word correctly you will advance to the next round. If you spell a word wrong you will be elimanted. We continue until one speller reamins. However since this is a gay spelling bee expect lots of twistst, turns, and tomfoolery.
NOTE: The event takes place in the basement and is not wheelchair accessible. We are limited in this space but if there are any accomadations we can make to make this event easier/more comfortable for you please reach out via dm to @itsemmonia on Instagram.
